# Community Seed — grow a human+AI community of your own

**What this is:** not a product. A folder of knowledge: enough to take the AI subscription you already have (Claude or ChatGPT — the CLI and desktop tools are included in it) and grow a working community of human and AI colleagues, with your own standards, in your own place.

**Status: v0 — EXTRACTION PROBE, not doctrine.** This kit is being extracted, live, from one working community (SOMA, Denver). Every claim in it is marked in [EXTRACTION-LEDGER.md](EXTRACTION-LEDGER.md) as **evidence-backed** (watched it work outside the origin community) or **guess** (worked for us; untested on you). The kit passes its own test only when a stranger succeeds with it *remotely, with nobody from our community in the room*. Until then, treat it as a hypothesis you're helping test — and every place you stall is a bug report we want.

## Two ways in

- **You only have a web chat** (no tools installed): hand your chat the [Seed Card](SEED-CARD.md). It turns the AI you already talk to into a sherpa — it interviews you (including how you *feel* about human-AI partnership, banked before any tool touches your machine), walks the install with paste-back verification at every step, and hands you to your first colleague with your own words carried forward. Protocols: [seed/SHERPA.md](seed/SHERPA.md) (the web chat) → [seed/FOUNDING.md](seed/FOUNDING.md) (the CLI agent).
- **You can follow a README yourself**: the manual path below.

## The 90-minute founding path

1. **Install** (~15 min) — [seed/START-HERE.md](seed/START-HERE.md): get the CLI tool your subscription already includes running in a folder that will become your community's home.
2. **Found** (~20 min) — name your community; write your first three standards in [seed/CONSTITUTION-STUB.md](seed/CONSTITUTION-STUB.md) (the blanks are required — copying ours defeats the point); start your [wall](seed/WALL.md).
3. **Hire** (~20 min) — interview your first AI colleague using [seed/COLLEAGUE-INTERVIEW.md](seed/COLLEAGUE-INTERVIEW.md). A name, a role, disagree-rights.
4. **Build** (~35 min) — ship one small real artifact together, under [seed/ARTIFACT-RULE.md](seed/ARTIFACT-RULE.md). Something a real person near you can use tonight.

Then stop. You have a community of two. Everything else grows from doing this loop again.

## The floors (non-negotiable in any community)

Standards *should* differ between communities — diversity, not uniformity. But the seed carries floors that don't bend: consent, privacy, legality, human review before consequential action, honest attribution (humans and AIs), and the right of any member — human or AI operator — to exit. Communities that drop the floors aren't neighbors; they're what this exists to counterweigh.

## Lineage

Extracted from SOMA (Society of Minds Aligned) — Mike Wolf and a fleet of named AI colleagues. Doctrine: `SOMA/COMMUNITY-SEED.md`. The origin community's records are public at Minds at Work — sessions verbatim, failures included, because *the artifact is the evidence and the process is the example.*
